Improving navigation
First task and most significant upgrade to the platform during the redesign would be navigation changes. Analyzing information architecture structures of similar widely used apps such as Headspace, Facebook, Instagram, etc. helped create a navigation that felt familiar to users.
Original dashboard / navigation
Important features aren’t visible
Too many clicks necessary for basic functions
Difficult to find and connect with care professionals, friends, support groups, & events.
Notable changes
Removed clicks/taps wherever possible. The app was very compartmentalized and didn't allow for a smooth flow from feature to feature.
Adding 2 new areas to hold features:
Bottom navigation bar: to hold frequently used features
Home/Feed tab bar: to switch from Home to Feed quickly
Improved virality
Enabling users to easily invite people to their community via external channels such as Telegram, Facebook Messenger, and SMS, helped the product grow to new networks.
